In 1977, Brouwerij Artois took over the Lootvoet Brewery, along with the Leffe brand. In 1988, Brouwerij Artois joined with Piedboeuf Brewery to form Interbrew, which in 2004 merged with Brazilian brewer AmBev to become InBev.
