Carolina Brewery is a beer brand created in 1995 in the city of Chapel Hill, North Carolina by Robert Poitras. Poitras was a recent graduate of University of North Carolina Chapel Hill business school, and opened the brewpub shortly after graduation. In 2015, a majority stake in the company was sold to SquareOne Holdings, owned by Allen Corey, the former CEO of Gordon Biersch and Craftworks.
