Connecticut Valley Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Steve and Lori Palauskas in South Windsor, Connecticut. Steve Palauskas had spent 25 years in the aviation industry before turning to brewing, which is why their logo features the Connecticut-made F4U Corsair airplane. The company initially was a contract brewer, producing their beer out of nearby Shebeen Brewery.
In 2015, the brand acquired Pioneer Beer Company from its founder, John Sullivan, and hired him on as head brewer for Connecticut Valley. In 2018, the team opened up a brewery and taproom in South Windsor, Connecticut. The company added a coffee brand, Birdhouse Coffee, in 2019, as well as a hard seltzer line called North Star.
In 2021, Connecticut Valley Brewing faced controversy when allegations came to light that their Sales Director, Jeff Nelson, had sexually harassed members of the staff. The Palauskases quickly fired Nelson, who issued an apology online.
The owner’s soon, Will Palauskas, also works for the company as marketing manager for the brands.
