Cruz Blanca Brewing Company was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 2016 by Frontera 900, the parent company of Chicago restaurant Leña Brava. They take inspiration from a brewery of the same name that was founded in Mexico City, Mexico in 1869 by Emil Dercher.

In 2023, the brewery entered a strategic partnership with Molson Coors’ 10th and Blake craft beer division to have their beer produced and distributed in Texas. As a result of that partnership, beers sold there are made by Revolver Brewing, one of Molson Coors’ subsidiaries.
