The Dundee beer brand was created in the year 1994 in the city of Rochester, New York. The brand was initially owned by High Falls Brewing Company, formerly known as Genesee Brewing Company. In 2009, the group sold the brewery to KPS Capital Partners, who had recently purchased the rights to Labatt in the United States. They reverted the brewery to the Genesee name, and gave their new subsidiary the name North American Breweries. Three years later, KPS sold NAB to FIFCO for a total of $338 million.
