Metropolitan Brewing Company (also known as Metro Brewing) was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 2008 by husband and wife Doug Hurst and Tracy Hurst. In 2023, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and shut down shortly thereafter. The following year, fellow Chicago brewer Short Fuse Brewing announced that they had purchased the brand rights for Metropolitan Brewing, and would be bringing it back to life.
