Milwaukee’s Best beer brand was created in 1895 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was initially owned by the Gettelman Brewing Company, which later merged with the Miller Brewing Company in 1961. In 1966, Miller Brewing Company became a wholly-owned subsidiary the conglomerate W.R. Grace and Company, and three years later they were sold to Philip Morris Companies Inc. Later in 2002, it came under the ownership of South African Breweries (SAB), which became known as SABMiller. In 2008, SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Company formed a joint operation in the united states called MillerCoors LLC. When SABMiller was purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2016, SABMiller’s stake in the joint venture was sold to Molson Coors to satisfy regulators.
