Night Shift Brewing was started in 2012 in Everett, Massachusetts by Michael Oxton, Rob Burns and Mike O’Mara. The three had been friends who homebrewed together for years before starting the brewery in an industrial park they shared with fellow brewery Idle Hands Craft Ales. The group takes an iterative approach to their business, and has expanded into coffee, hard seltzer, hard tea, and more.

In 2024, Night Shift Brewing was acquired by Hendler Family Brewing, the parent company of Jack’s Abby.
