Offshoot Beer was created in the year 2017 by The Bruery, a well-known craft brewery located in Placentia, California. The brand was quite literally an offshoot, focusing on IPAs while the main brand focused on more eccentric beers. Later that year, private equity firm Castanea Partners purchased a majority stake in both brands.
