Olympia Brewing was created in 1896 in Tumwater, Washington, by Leopold Friederich Schmidt. In 1983 it was purchased by the G. Heileman Brewing Company. In 1996, Heileman’s brands were purchased by Stroh Brewing. Burdened by the debt from the purchase, Stroh went bankrupt in 1999, and sold the Olympia brand to Pabst Brewing. In 2021, Pabst discontinued production of Olympia.
