Rodenbach Brewery was created in the year 1821 in the city of Roeselare, Belgium by Pedro, Alexander, Ferdinand and Constantijn Rodenbach. Pedro and his wife Regina Wauters took over the company in 1836, and passed it on to their son Edward in 1864, when it began to grow dramatically. It remained in the Rodenbach family until 1998, when it was sold to Palm Brewery. However, in 2016, Palm Brewery themselves were taken over by Bavaria Brewery, which in 2018 renamed itself to Swinkels Family Breweries.
