Sarbast beer was first created by Baltic Beverages Holdings in 2007 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. At the time, BBH was a joint venture between Carlsberg Group and Scottish & Newcastle. The following year, Scottish & Newcastle was purchased by Carlsberg and Heineken together, with Carlsberg taking the BBH portion. As a result, Sarbast is now wholly owned by Carlsberg Group.
