Viva Beer was created in 2019 in San Antonio, Texas by MJ Johnson and Bobby Jones. In 2022 they began contracting their beers with Alamo Beer Company, and in 2023 announced that they would be mergin with Alamo Beer under the Alamo Beer Company banner. In 2025, Alamo was purchased by Australian private equity firm SKJ Capital, but the Viva beer brand was discontinued the year prior.
