The Bronx Brewery was founded in New York City, New York in 2011 by Chris Gallant and Damian Brown. In 2015, they sold a minority stake in the business to Tenth Avenue Holdings, a private equity firm founded by Joel Citron and Laurence Denihan in 2008. In 2018, Gallant left the company to move back to California with his family, though he retained his ownership stake at the time. However, by 2022, Tenth Avenue had acquired a majority stake in the business. In 2024, Bronx Brewing announced it was merging with Captain Lawrence Brewery.
