Northway Brewing Company was founded in 2018 in Queensbury, New York by Northern Eagle Beverages, a beer distributor based out of southern New York. The facility in which it is brewed was formerly known as the Lake George Brew Hub, and later as the Lake George Brew House. Created from an old movie cinema and retrofitted as a brewery, it was built by brothers John and Rick Davidson in 2014, as part of a collaboration with their brand Davidson Brothers Brewery and Cooperstown Brewery. Around that time, Cooperstown was purchased by Northern Eagle, and in 2016 Northern Eagle also purchased the brewery. However, the Davidson Brothers beer brand is still owned by John and Rock Davidson, and they have since contract brewed at the formerly shared facility.
In 2018, Northern Eagle announced plans to create a brand for the Queensbury space, to take advantage of the company’s distributing capacity.
