2 Towns Ciderhouse was started in Corvallis, Oregon in 2010 by Lee Larsen, Dave Takush, and Aaron Sarnoff-Wood. Sarnoff-Wood was a graphic designer who wanted to start a brewpub, and contacted Larsen to discuss the idea. Upon understanding the high startup costs of the business, the pair pivoted to cider, and brewed a test batch for Larsen’s brother’s wedding in 2009. The following year they launched their brand in a small 1,000 square foot facility between the two college towns of Corvallis and Eugene; hence the name 2 Towns Ciderhouse.
By 2012, the company moved to a space ten times the size less than a block away, and by the following year was producing more than 4,500 barrels on an annual basis.
