Key West Brewery was founded in 1995 in Key West, Florida by Joseph Lambert and Pat Kavanaugh. In 2003, it was purchased by Humberto Perez, who also owned Florida Beer Company and Ybor City Brewing. He sold that company to Indian River Beverage Company in 2005, which promptly renamed to Florida Beer Company. That company, founded in 1997, was owned by Bruce and Duncan Holt, Jack Owen, James Nance, and Richard Bawey. In 2016, the company sold to Trinidad & Tobago’s Ansa McAL.
