DECADENT ALES
First Brewed

2016

Origin

New York, United States

Decadent Ales was founded in 2016 in Mamaroneck, New York by Paul Pignataro. Pignataro was able to start the brewery due to the introduction of the farm brewery license, which allowed businesses to start for $400 instead of the typical $10,000, so long as they used ingredients from the state of New York.

Initially, the beer was brewed through the Twelve Percent Project, which contracts for several breweries in the area. In 2018, Decadent Ales finally opened a brewpub. It was the first to open in the city of Mamaroneck, which had to amend its zoning laws to allow for beer production. The process took a year and eight months before Pignataro could start planning the space. Their brewpub featured Filipino-Hawaiian food from Chris Gonzalez of Hapa Food Truck, and dessert-inspired beers that stayed true to the name “Decadent.”

In June 2023, the company announced that it would be shutting down for renovations with a new concept. However by the end of the year, it became apparent that the brand was defunct.
