Two Roads Brewing was created in the year 2012 in Stratford, Connecticut by Phil Markowski, Brad Hittle, and Clem Pellani. The three had collaborated before when Markowski helped develop craft beer recipes for Hittle and Pellani when they worked at Labatt and later Pabst. They founded Two Roads Brewing on the premise of building a facility that could split its resources between their own brand and contracted beer for other brands. Their first contracting customers were 12 Percent Brewing, Evil Twin Brewing, and Stillwater Artisanal. By 2017, they were brewing 53,000 barrels under the Two Roads name, and 85,000 barrels for other brewers.
