4 Hands Brewing Company, known for their craft beers, was established in 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri by Kevin Lemp. Before starting the brewery, Lemp worked for winemaker E&J Gallo, and then later managed the Gallo portfolio for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits distribution company. Since opening, 4 Hands has also expanded to spirits, canned cocktails, and seltzers, launching 1220 Artisan Spirits in 2018. In 2023, 4 Hands announced that they would be opening a new brewery taproom in Chesterfield, Missouri. Today, it is one of the biggest craft breweries in the St Louis area.
