7 Clans Brewing was founded in 2018 in Asheville, North Carolina by Morgan and Travis Crisp, who founded CCB Beverage LLC at that time. Morgan, a member of the Cherokee tribe, was a restaurant owner and wanted to use beer to tell the story of the Cherokee people. The couple began by contract brewing their beer with BearWaters Brewery, but in 2020 the pair teamed up with Frank and Julia Bonomo to purchase Frog Level Brewing Company and began brewing there. They also opened up a location of their own in 2022.
