Almaza is a popular brand of beer produced in Lebanon. It was created in the year 1933 in the city of Beirut by the Jabre family, along with other partners, under the name Brasserie Franco-Libano-Syrienne. In 1950, it changed its name to Brasserie et Malterie Almaza. Heineken gained majority control in 2002 by forcing a purchase of 68% of the stock. However, instability in the region caused them to leave the market, and in 2021 Philippe Jabre regained control of the business.
