Appalachian Brewing Company was created in January, 1997, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Jack Sproch and Shawn Gallagher, two Harrisburg residents and longtime friends, and Artie Tafoya, who previously owned Heavenly Daze Brewery & Grill in Colorado. The company now operates five brewpubs throughout the area.
