Atlanta Brewing Company was founded in 1993 in Atlanta, Georgia by Greg Kelly. It was based out of Midtown Atlanta until 2007, when it moved to the Upper Westside Area. A year prior, Kelly had left the organization, and Bob Budd was brought on as owner. In 2010, the company name was changed to Red Brick Brewing, after a speech given by the confederate mayor of Atlanta where he said the city would “”rise from the ashes like a phoenix and be rebuilt one red brick at a time” after General Sherman burned it down. The name changed back in 2018.

By 2021, David Peterson was added as an owner of the company, and Alton Shields was brought on as President and shareholder. In 2023, the company’s taproom closed down, though the management hopes to open a new taproom soon.
