Bellingham Cider Company was founded in Bellingham, Washington in 2018 by Bryce Hamilton and Joshua Serface. The pair had worked together as paramedics in Portland, but both had backgrounds on family apple orchards. When Hamilton discussed his idea of opening a restaurant, the two teamed up on building a cidery, given that none were present in the area at the time.
