Boon Brewery was founded in 1978 in Lembeek, Belgium by Frank Boon. He purchased the De Vits brewery from siblings Rene and Jeanne De Vits, moving it from the Hondzocht location to Lembeek. In 1990, Boon entered into a partnership with Palm Breweries, who took a 50% stake in the brewery, but when Palm was sold to Bavaria Breweries in 2016, the partnership came to an end.
