Cascade Brewing Company was founded in 1998 in Portland, Oregon by Art Larrance and brewmaster Ron Gansberg. In 2020, the brewery announced that it was sold to Mark Becker, Ramie Mount, Brian Kovach and Greg Laird. However, in 2024 Larrance died, and it came to light that the deal was never concluded. With the liquor license for the brewery still in his name and set to expire 10 days after his death, the family discovered that their family trust was the majority owner of the brewery. Unable to bear the costs of running Cascade, it was shutdown shortly thereafter.
