Erdinger Brewery was founded in 1886 in the city of Erding, Bavaria, Germany by Johann Kienle. In 1890 it was sold to the Stadlmeier family, who held it until 1930 when it was sold to the FW Otto malt factory. Finally, it was sold to Franz Brombach in 1935, whose son, Werner Brombach, has owned the company since 1975.
