Fifty West Brewing Company was founded in 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio by Bob Slattery and his son Bobby Slattery, with their firm Slatts Group. The elder Slattery had founded Slatts Group in 1978 as a ValPak advertising franchise, which later expanded into hospitality and consumer goods. The two founded the brewery in the Heritage Restaurant Building, and later expanded to another facility in Chillicothe, Ohio.
