Frankenmuth Brewery was founded in Frankenmuth, Michigan in 1862 by John Matthias Falliers, William Knaust, and Martin Heubisch. In 1874, it was purchased by John G. Geyer, who renamed it Geyer Brothers Brewing Company. It kept that name until 1987, when Ervin Industries and Ferdinand M. Schumacher purchased it out of bankruptcy for $365,000. Randall E. Heine took a majority ownership in 1990, and held it until a tornado destroyed the brewery in 2003, shutting down the business. In 2009, the brewery was rebuilt after being purchased by Anmar and Haithem Sarafa.
