Frankfurter Brauhaus was founded in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany in 1988 by the East German government. When the Berlin wall fell, the company was privatized, and sold to Brau und Brunnen AG in 1991. When the company announced they were looking to close the brewery, investors Karsten Uhlmann and Mike Bernd Gärtner stepped in to purchase the brand and facility, naming their new company TCB Beverages.
