Grey Duck Brewing was introduced by Grey Duck Spirits in 2023 as an expansion to their spirits line. The company was founded in 2018 by Jerry Schulz, Mark Cotter and Jamie Quesnel, and Chad Greenway, the former captain of the Minnesota Vikings. The expansion into beer came with a promise to support student athletes at the University of Minnesota, with 20% of profits going towards the Dinkytown Athletes fund which supports them.
