Greene King Brewery was founded in Bury St. Edmunds, England in 1799 by Benjamin Greene. It was originally known as Greene Brewery, before it merged with Frederick William King’s brewery in 1887 to become Greene King. Throughout the second half of the twentieth century, it acquired several other local breweries, and soon become listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2019, Hong Kong-based CK Assets purchased the company.
