Guilford Hall Brewery was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 2021 by Stefan Popescu and Richard Craft. Popescu, a real estate developer, purchased the former Crown Cork and Seal facility for $3 million to turn into a brewery in 2017. He ateamed up with financial planner Richard Craft, and although Craft is the CEO and managing partner, filings with local authorities show that Popescu owns 99% of the company.
In 2024, Guilford Hall purchased the intellectual property assets of Flying Fish Brewery through a bankruptcy auction for $152,500.
