Hopworks Urban Brewery, commonly known as HUB, is a renowned beer brand that was established in the year 2007 in Portland, Oregon by husband and wife Christian and Brandie Ettinger. Christian had become fascinated with brewing after spending a semester studying in Cologne, Germany. As a senior in college, he interned at Oregon Fields Brewery, and later was a brewer at Eugene City Brewery, Old World Pub and Brewery, and Laurelwood Brewery.

In 2004, the Ettingers purchased a building on Powell Boulevard in Portland formerly occupied by Sunset Fuel Company. The space took about three years to renovate before the brewery opened. This location was followed by a second on North Williams Avenue in 2011, and a third in Vancouver, Washington in 2016. Hopworks became a Certified B Corp in 2015, the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. They opened a fourth location at the Portland Airport in 2018, but amidst the Covid pandemic they had to shut down the North Williams location in 2020.

Hopworks now distributes its beer throughout Oregon, as well as to Washington, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, California, and across the Pacific to Japan.
