Lord Hobo Brewing Company is a craft beer brand that was created in 2015 by Daniel Lanigan, an experienced entrepreneur in the craft beer industry. Lanigan had previously started the Lord Hobo craft beer bar in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2015, he began brewing in Woburn, Massachusetts, a city just north of Boston with $4.5 million in capital from 23 investors. That year, it sold 9,000 barrels, a record for an independent brewery in its innaugural year.

Lanigan touted that the company was destined to become a billion dollar company within ten years, and had goals of producing 50,000 barrels of beer a year. On the backs of these ambitions, in 2017 Lord Hobo sold a minority stake to Valterra Capital for $12 million. However, the company started to face criticsm, stemming from allegations of sexual intimidation and harassment by Lanigan. He was replaced as CEO in June of 2019, and by 2021 it was showing a 23% decline in sales versus the prior year. However, the company continued to expand, and it added another brewpub in the Seaport neighborhood of Boston in 2022.

Valterra eventually expanded their stake and became the majority owner, and in 2024 they announced plans to merge Lord Hobo with Lone Pine Brewing in Portland, Maine.
