Martin City Brewing Company was founded in 2011 in Kansas City, Missouri by Matt Moore and Chance Adams. Moore’s family owned the Kansas City restaurant staple Jess & Jim’s Steakhouse, where he worked since he was 10 years old. Before starting the brewery, Moore had been a homebrewer who owned a landscaping business, and had recently purchased a vacant building in the Martin City neighborhood of Kansas City, intending it for his landscaping equipment. Instead, he teamed up with his old sailing friend Chance Adams to turn the space into a brewery.

In 2014, Martin City rebranded their brewpub “Coast to Coast Pub,” and at the same time opened up a Pizza parlor and taproom directly next door. Known for their Neapolitan pizza, there are now 5 Martin City Pizza & Taproom locations throughout Missouri and Kansas, as well as the Coast to Coast Pub. The company also began distributing in 2014, and distributes throughout Missouri and beyond.

Martin also owns a local coffee company called Love, Coffee, as well as Martin City Ice Cream Company.
