Moat Mountain Smoke House & Brewing Co was established in North Conway, New Hampshire in 2000 by husband and wife team Stephen Johnson and Vicky Valentino. The two opened a restaurant in the area in the 1990s, and were early adopters of craft beer brands like Allagash Brewing. This led them to starting the brewery, and in 2014 they expanded to another brewery in Bartlett, New Hampshire.
