Nambawan beer was first brewed in 2008 by Seven Seas Brewery, owned by Don and Donna MacQuid. The couple, who were two American expats from Denver, Colorado, owned the War Horse Saloon in Port Vila, Vanuatu, and started brewing the beer with their small brewery onsite at the bar to compete with Vanuatu Brewery’s Tusker beer. In 2014, they sold the brand to Vanuatu Brewery, who now brews it.
