No Li Brewhouse was created in 1993 as Northern Lights Brewery. It was founded by brewer Mark Irvin in Airway Heights, Washington. The company moved to a bigger location in 2002, adding a restaurant to the taproom in the process. In 2011, Irvin partnered with John Bryant, who was formerly the vice president of sales and marketing for Deschutes Brewery, as well as the president of Odells brewing. He joined the business to expand the brand, and he helped rename the business to No Li Brewhouse after realizing that Starr Hill Brewery’s Northern Lights beer was competing with the company.
In 2015, the company faced the opportunity to expand to a much bigger production facility, and required collateral to fund the initiative. Irvin was not interested in expanding further, and as a result, Bryant took over complete ownership of No Li and Mark Irvin left the organization a year later, after acting in an advisory role for one more year.
