Perennial Artisan Ales was founded in 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri by husband and wife Phil and Emily Wymore. The two met while working at a small brewpub in Columbia, Missouri, where Phil decided he wanted to pursue brewing. He got his start at Goose Island Brewery in Chicago, Illinois as a brewer and later Cellar Manager. He later left to become head brewer at Half Acre Brewing Company, while getting his brewing degree at the Siebel Institute. He and Emily set up shop in a former Coca Cola factory, which has been reimagined as a mixed use facility.
