Pilsen was created by Cervecería Nacional in Paraguay by Juan and Pedro Bossio in 1912. In 1938, the company was renamed Cervecería Paraguaya, now shortened to Cervepar. In 2003 it was purchased by AmBev, which became InBev the following year when it merged with Belgian company InterBrew. In 2008, InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch to become Anheuser-Busch InBev.
