Red Rock Brewing Company was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1994 by a group of partners including Robert Jensen, Cindy Smith, Steve Lyman, Russell Bollow, John Bollow, Grant Schettler, and Steve Shluker. In 1997, several of the founding members of the company departed, which threatened to close the operation. Jensen now acts as managing member of the brewery, and he caused boycotts of the brewery in 2019 when he spoke out against a law that would expand alcohol sales of beer higher than 3.2%.
