Ringnes Brewery was founded in Oslo, Norway in 1876 by Amund and Ellef Ringnes. In 1978 it merged with De Sammensluttede Bryggerier to become Nora Industrier. Nora merged with Orkla Group in 1991, who in 2000 sold off its breweries to Carlsberg Group.
