Sockeye Brewing was founded in 1996 in Boise, Idaho by Kevin Mills. The brewery was originally based out of a storage complex, but moved to a dedicated taproom in 2002. In 2004, Mills sold the brewery to husband and wife Fred and Linda Schuerman, who expanded the brewhouse and later added a second facility in 2012.
