Timisoreana beer is a renowned brand that was created in the year 1718 in the city of Timisoara, Romania by Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Prince build the brewery to satisfy the needs of the Austrian troops he brought to the city after its capture from the Ottoman Empire. It was operated by the army for more than a century and a half, until it was sold to unknown owners in the 19th century. In 1948, it was re-nationalized by the communist government, only to be sold again to South African Breweries in 2002. That same year, SAB purchased Miller to become SABMiller. Anheuser-Busch InBev then purchased SABMiller in 2016, but due to antitrust regulations, they were required to sell its Eastern European subsidiaries to Asahi Holdings, which was completed in 2017.
