Washington Gold Cider was created by Lake Chelan Winery in Lake Chelan, Washington in 2010. Lake Chelan Winery was founded in 1975 by husband and wife Steve and Bobbi Kludt, along with Bobbi’s parents Jim and Betty Waldron. It was originally known as Kludt Waldron Orchards and focused on making cider, but switched to wine in 1998 when the apple market crashed. The Washington Gold brand was introduced in 2010 to diversify the company’s portfolio.
