Xirdalan is a brand of beer first produced by Baku Brewery in Khirdalan, Azerbaijan in 1969. At the time, the brewery was state owned, but in 1997 it was privatized and purchased by the French wine consortium Groupe Castel. In 2008, Castel sold the company to Baltika, which had recently been purchased by Carlsberg Group. Most of the Baltika brewery assets were siezed by the Russian government following the invasion of Ukraine, but since the Baku Brewery lies outside of Russia, this brewery remains in the hans of Carlsberg.
