Yards Brewery was created in 1994 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The brand was founded by Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit, friends from college who had brewed beer together since 1988. In 1999, Bovit resigned, and two years later new partners Nancy and Bill Barton were brought on board. They later resigned as well in 2007, leaving Kehoe as majority owner.
