Government Owned Beers

Although breweries owned by government entities were much more common during the era of the Soviet Union, there are still quite a few breweries that are owned by the state. While most are vestiges of the communist era, the world’s oldest brewery, Weihenstephaner, remains owned by the state of Bavaria due to its previous ownership by the Bavarian monarchy.
